Vladimir Banković was born on August 25, 73 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Vladimir Banković was born on August 25, 1973, in Belgrade. He completed his elementary education and attended the XI Belgrade Gymnasium. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education at the University of Belgrade. Since 1999, Banković has been actively working as a professional fitness coach in handball. He has worked with both the junior men's and women's senior national teams, as well as with the handball club Crvena Zvezda. One of his notable achievements during this time was winning a silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in Almeria in 2005. From 2006 to the present, he has been part of the professional staff for the Serbian national volleyball team, specializing in physical preparation. Under his guidance, the team has won 24 medals at various world and European competitions. Among these, the most significant include bronze medals from the World Championships in 2006, and gold medals in 2018 and 2022. He also contributed to the team's successes at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where they won silver, and at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where they secured a bronze medal.
Between 2006 and 2022, he participated in nine European Championships, winning seven medals: three gold, three silver, and two bronze. Additionally, he helped the Serbian national volleyball team secure a bronze medal at the inaugural European Olympic Games in Azerbaijan in 2015. In 2009, as part of the Serbian national volleyball team, he competed at the XXV Summer Universiade held in Belgrade, where they won a silver medal.
Banković has also been involved with some of the best European clubs in handball, including Handball Club PICK Szeged from 2007 to 2009, R.K. Ferencvaroš in 2010, and R.K. Celje from 2011 to 2012. He also worked with the volleyball club Fenerbahçe from 2018 to 2021.
