The study program Business Economics is intended for students who have the desire and need to be educated in a quality way and acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to play an active role in the modern business world. During their studies, through the study of mandatory and elective courses, students are enabled to acquire knowledge in the field of business economics, as well as to focus on the fields of management, finance, accounting, marketing, etc. Course books and study materials for the current semester are included in the tuition fee.
This program aims to acquire theoretical and methodological and practical economic knowledge in the field of business economics for creative problem solving and strategic and operational decision making in the business of various economic organizations, public sector and non-profit organizations in the global digital environment. Following the requirements of the labour market and economic development, the aim of this study program is for students to acquire the necessary functional knowledge of the way and structure of business organizations, so that they can adequately perform more complex tasks within organizations, and coordinate and manage their development globally.
A key aspect of teaching in this study program is the use of case study methodology, which allows students to, through case studies of successful companies from our country and the world, develop systematic and analytical problem-solving. Advanced software is used in practice classes in applied economic subjects. Continuous work of students on acquiring professional business skills (hard skills) and personal business skills (soft skills), makes them acquire the full range of skills necessary for the development of a successful career. Another advantage of modern study programs is the possibility of learning two foreign languages, of which English is compulsory, and the other foreign language is optional.
Upon completion of the study program Business Economics, students will based on the acquired knowledge, competencies, and skills, have a wide range of employment opportunities in positions that include:
- management of key business functions (management, finance, accounting and marketing) in companies and other organizations,
- change and crisis management in organizations,
- application of accounting methodology for the purpose of reporting to management bodies and other users of financial statements, as well as for the purpose of prevention of criminal acts in the field of economy and prevention of vulnerability of the organization to these criminal acts,
- use of alternative techniques of analysis of financial statements and business finances in order to determine the financial structure and success for the needs of business combinations, i.e. mergers and acquisitions;
- use of modern information systems in the field of accounting and e-business methodology in order to more efficiently meet the goals of the organization.
Upon successful completion of studies, students of this study programme acquire the academic title of Bachelor of Science in Economics (BSc. in Econ.)
