Mlađan Jovanović was born on May 25, 1981 in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Dr. Mlađan Jovanović has industrial and research experience in developing artificial intelligence and interactive computing systems. He has been collaborating as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Trento, Italy. He served as a visiting researcher at Northumbria University in Newcastle and the University of Edinburgh. During the same period, he held a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher scholarship. He is a member of the special interest group on AI in Industry at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the Vienna University of Technology. His areas of interest and work include artificial intelligence, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, computer games, and social computing. The focus of engagement is on language models, their architectures, and integration with knowledge-based systems, aiming to enhance the performance of artificial intelligence systems, including their transparency, explainability, interpretability, safety, utility, and usability. He is an active member of the founding board of the Marie Curie Alumni Association section for the Western Balkans.
