Katarina Mihajlović was born on May 17, 1987 in Kraljevo, Serbia.

Katarina Mihajlović was born on May 17, 1987. She received the master of pharmacy, Ph.D. and master of nutrition and supplementation degrees in 2011, 2022 and 2023, respectively, all from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Kragujevac. Her exceptional academic achievements during her studies earned her multiple awards, with an average grade of 9,51. Following the internship, she passed the professional licensing exam for pharmacists in December 2012 under the Ministry of Health.

At the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Kragujevac, she passed all the exams provided for in the curriculum of the doctoral academic study program with an average grade of 9.50. She passed the comprehensive oral doctoral exam in 2015 with a score of 9. Her doctoral dissertation, titled "Investigation of the effects of chronic administration of cisplatin and Ru(II) complex on the isolated heart and oxidative stress in rats", was successfully defended in 2022.

Katarina has been employed at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Kragujevac since 2013, initially as a teaching associate and later as an assistant in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Since 2015, she has contributed actively to research at the Laboratory for Cardiovascular Physiology, now known as the Center for Preclinical and Functional Research. She is the author of 27 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, with 19 articles in SCI-ranked journals (categories M23 and M21) and 8 in category M50, amassing a cumulative impact factor of 62.468. Her work has been showcased at numerous international congresses, where she received the 2019 Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology Young Investigator Award in Cardiovascular Sciences at a congress in Vrnjačka Banja. Katarina has also served as a co-researcher on two junior research projects at the Faculty of Medical Sciences and participated in the Erasmus international project "Strengthening Capacities and Digital Competencies in Biomedical Education Through Internationalization at Home" (BIOSINT). As part of the Center for the Study of Redox Balance in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders, she is a recipient of the prestigious Charter of Saint Sava for exceptional contributions.

In December 2023, Katarina successfully defended her master’s thesis, "Nutrition and Supplementation in the Service of Mental Health: Challenges and Recommendations," with a GPA of 9.78, earning her the title of Master of Nutrition and Supplementation, at Faculty of Medical Sciences

Since May 2023, Katarina has served as an assistant with a doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy, and as of September 2024, she has held the position of assistant professor in the same field. In the 2024/2025 academic year, she was engaged in the Integrated Academic Studies of Pharmacy at the University of Singidunum, in the subject Clinical Pharmacy. Fluent in English, Katarina is also highly skilled in computer applications.
