Jovana Bradić was born on December 19, 1991 in Kragujevac, Serbia.
Jovana Bradić graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Kragujevac in 2010. She started her research work in 2012 in the laboratory for cardiovascular physiology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences. She enrolled in her doctoral studies in 2015 at the same faculty, and in 2019 she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Investigation of the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cardioprotective effects of the Galium verum L. extract" She passed the professional exam before the professional commission of the Ministry of Health in 2015.
Associate professor Jovana Bradić has been actively engaged in research work in the field of preparation of plant extracts and other natural materials, formulation and characterization of pharmaceutical forms based on natural ingredients, assessment of safety and pharmacological effects of natural products, drugs and newly synthesized compounds on the model of acute and chronic diseases in rats. He is the head of the department for laboratory operations of the Center for Preclinical and Functional Research and a member of the Center of Excellence for the Study of Redox Balance in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders, Faculty of Medical Sciences.
She is a participant in the project "Unleashing nature’s potential: Using Grape Skin Extract and Sustainable Materials for Advanced Chronic Wound Therapy - GraSP_MAT" (Program Promis 2023) and "Unleashing nature’s potential: Development of Additive-Free Prokupac Grape Skin Topping as Functional Food " - GRaSP ( Proof of concept) that were financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. She was the head of the junior project of the Faculty of Medical Sciences - "New topical formulations containing plant extracts/essential oils: potential in the treatment of wounds, burns and local inflammation in the diabetic rat model".
So far, she has published over 45 papers on the SCI list, in 15 the leading author (h-index- 13, November 2024, Google scholar profile) and she is the co-author of 5 papers in national journals. She was at the organizing committee of the 9th International congress of pathophysiology and 5th congress of physiological sciences of Serbia with international participation and presented her research at over 70 international conferences. He is a member of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences.
She is the editor-in-chief of the textbook "Fundamentals of biopharmacy for students of integrated academic pharmacy studies". She published a chapter with Professor Gregory Weber from the University of Louisville entitled Role of Oxidative Stress in Hyperhomocysteinemia-Induced Heart Diseases in the textbook Modulation of Oxidative Stress in Heart Disease (Springer) and with Prof. University of Manitoba Lorrie Kirshenbaum chapter Cardiometabolic Function in Women in the textbook Biology of Women's Heart Health.
She is the mentor of two defended and one submitted doctoral theses and over 20 master's theses on integrated academic studies in pharmacy and master's studies in regenerative medicine.
She received the award for the best scientist of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, awarded by the University of Kragujevac, in 2023. She received Young Investigator Award Roberto Boli for an oral presentation at the 7th meeting of the European section and the 8th meeting of the North American section of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (IACS), Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2020). In October 2024, she participated at researh work at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the University of Cagliari, Italy.
